Bouyack's Laptop

Bouyack's laptop refers to MJB40, a Dell Inspiron 4100 purchased in 2002 for use at Case. Right from the get-go it started having problems, and within months people were already commenting how sucky it was. However, it played many extremely important roles throughout the history of FckInc; it could be argued1) that without it, FckInc would not be same.

Hardware List

MJB40

The speakers died. The memory had to be upgraded from 128Mb to 310 Mb so it could play Diablo II. The optical drive never could play homemade DVDs and became less and less reliable over the years. The original mouse died and had to be replaced. The single USB 1.1 port became increasingly inadequate and was replaced with a USB 2.0 PCM/CIA card. Occasionally the screen would flicker or go black. Finally the hard disk crashed and had to be replaced with an Ubuntu LiveCD (running on the flaky CD-ROM/DVD drive).

Bouyack's Laptop and FckInc

Despite its tendency to crash, wig out, and suck in general, Bouyack's laptop played crucial roles in some of FckInc's finest moments.

  • Powered DDR parties in freshman and sophomore years.
  • Key component in Metroid Showdown.
  • Allowed big-screen usage in Final Fantasy Parties.
  • Used to watch countless movies and anime series in common areas throughout the years.
  • Once almost had a two-year-old German version of Kubuntu installed onto it.
  • FIXME all the other stuff

Pranks, Comments, and Other Lore

FIXME Stuff like video/picture of M commenting on Bouyack's sucky laptop and Bouyack showing the camera his to-do list, the BSOD/reboot loop that was a screensaver, Pianoman at startup, etc

1) Or simply stated, anyway
